Black metal German desk light with chrome stem signed by Helo Leuchten, circa 1945

Sleek Bauhaus design, modern and functional.

The shade is articulated and slides sideways as well as upwards and downwards.

The base is heavy and thereby creates stability when adjusting the shade. The stem has a plastic part enabling a good grip to easily take the lamp in hand.

The roundness of all shapes of the light is reflected in the light it casts.

Perfect as a desk light and also other spaces like the living room.

Standard E27 screw bulb, compatible LED.

Dimensions: H40xP37 Diam of the base 18 cm

Helo was founded in the 1930’s by Henry Gerhard Senior under the name of Elektrogeschäfts Helo in Breslau, when it was a German city. It became the Polish city Wroclaw. He fled Neuburg with his family in 1945. Helo Leuchten was registered in 1946 in Neuburg (Neuburg an der Donau). The name of Helo comes from the combination of Henry and his son Lothar.

The company Gebr. Kaiser & Co. Leuchten KG, Lichttechnische Spezialfabrik in Neheim-Hüsten bougt the rights to use the name Helo.

Lothar Gerhard took over the company after the death of Henry Gerhard in 1964, but had to abandon the manufacture and became the commercial company it is today. Helo is now owned by Henry Gerhard Junior, his son, since 1980 member of the Expert group.
