1960’s Celestial Globe

A stunning mid-century celestial globe.  This rare, decorative and educational globe depicts the night sky and alignment of the major constellations visible from Earth. The globe rotates in two axis and sits inside an aluminium base.  Lines of longitude are marked at 30° intervals and latitude at 30º and 60° from the equator.

Designed by Erich Bartel and built by Fâch of Leipzig, East Germany, it would have been used for educational purposes.

In very good condition with only minor signs of wear and tear, this is a striking piece to add colour and interest to any home!
