1933 Art Deco service by Shelley Eric Slater

Superb and very rare table service from the famous English pottery and earthenware house Shelley.

This is the ‘Band and Lines’ service numbered 12132 orange and gray on a white background, dating from 1933. Eric Slater is the designer, working for Shelley since 1919 for his father Walter Slater, and becoming artistic director of Shelley in 1937. Eric Slater was avant-garde and totally transformed Shelley’s creations with a total revival during the Art Deco period.
