1940 Articulated Desk Lamp with Pen Holder and Opaline Glasses
This model was created in 1940 by the famous French company Pirouett, creator of the first articulated desk lamps in the 1920s.
This is a rare model with a rectangular base, marked Pirouett France, on which is attached a clip for holding sheets of paper or business cards and two pen holders in dark red and dark brown, a superb and clever detail.
This ingenious lamp has a rectangular base to which the arm holding the projector is connected, allowing the angle to be adjusted. Its four-sided white opaline projector can also be moved forwards, backwards and sideways.
The illuminated area can therefore be perfectly selected and the light is soft on the eyes thanks to the opal glass.
A light fixture with real personality, presence, chic and practicality.
A cast iron base hidden under the chrome-plated brass foot provides perfect stability, particularly when changing positions.
The overall condition is good, with slight loss of chrome on the reflector and the rod, which has lost its chrome (see photo), and a small dent on the base.
New bakelite switch with black and red button, new plug, standard E27 screw bulb, LED compatible.
